As much as I love travel and travel blogging, Rear View Mirror is a commercial blog which means you’ll find advertising and affiliate links throughout the site as well as on my social media channels.
As a full-time travel blogger, much of my time is spent on in-depth exploration of destinations and the content on Rear View Mirror reflects that. Travel content is not paid for but based on my views and opinions. I almost always travel at my own expense but I do take the occasional (unpaid) press trip.
Advertising on Rear View Mirror may include banner advertising on the blog, posts promoting a product, service or destination, branded posts, affiliate links, paid inclusion in our travel directories and advertising in my newsletter.
There are affiliate links throughout this site. These are for products and services I recommend for things like hotel accommodation, car rental, travel insurance and books. I receive a commission from purchases via my affiliate links. Instagram and other social media posts may also include affiliate links. This will be disclosed in the post via text or a hashtag.
This site also used Skimlinks. Skimlinks uses software that automatically converts normal links into affiliate links and I am paid a commission if a purchase is made through these links. So even though a link may not look like a typical affiliate link, it sometimes is.
Certain content that appears on this site comes from Amazon Services LLC. This content is provided ‘AS IS’ and is subject to change or removal at any time. Rearviewmirror.tv is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
Rear View Mirror’s travel guides may include a paid directory of local businesses such as restaurants, bars, shops, museums, art galleries and tour companies. Any paid inclusions are clearly labelled either as ‘premium’ or ‘sponsored’. Paid links are always disclosed. Recommended hotels, apartments, car rental companies, travel insurance and books usually include affiliate links which means I get a commission when bookings are made. Whether the listings are paid for or not, only businesses and services I have used and recommend are included in the guide unless otherwise stated.
Press Trips, Hosted Stays and Review Products
I sometimes receive free products and services including transport, accommodation, meals and tours. Any content and reviews produced as a result of these contain my honest opinion, good or bad. Whether a trip, product or service is paid for by a tourism board, hotel, airline or by myself, the review would be the same.
