While Krakow might be known for its beauty and culture and Warsaw for its history and food, the small city of Poznan is noted for its gorgeous Main Market Square. Like most cities in Poland, much of it had to be rebuilt after the war but the original design and character has been retained.
Poznan is a beautiful place to stop when driving through the country or even better as a weekend break. We stopped by for lunch and a quick peek at the city while on our way to Warsaw. I鈥檝e been to Krakow and Szczecin before but this was our first stop in Poland on this trip and even though we mostly hung out at the Main Square it was enough to know I鈥檇 like to go back for a longer stay.

Poznan is still on our list! Hopefully this summer! Looks like you had a very pretty day when you stopped at least! 馃檪
It’s worth a weekend trip I think.
It’s beautiful. We haven’t been to Poland yet.
You should Rosemary, plenty to see.
I still hope to make it to Poznan food fair in October. Sadly, there’s no blog report on that to prepare for my trip.
I’m sure you won’t need much preparation as it’s a small city. The food fair sounds like a great time to visit. I might try and go for that too.
So pretty! I’ve heard a lot of good things about Poznan. I enjoy those small cities in central and eastern Europe where you can still see what real life is like for the local people.
Me too I like those kinds of cities. Poznan is definitely worth a weekend visit if you get the chance.
