It’s been a while since I’ve posted a travel update. Things have been fairly quiet over the last few months while I was in Australia catching up with my family. I struggle to find the inspiration to write when I’m not travelling so I’ve mostly been sharing old photos on Facebook and Google+. I’m back in Europe now, in Albania picking up my car, and in a couple of days we’ll be getting the ferry across to Italy.
I have a few road trips planned this year with the first being through Tuscany to visit the region’s hilltop towns. I’ve already been to Orvieto but want to see all the other famous towns. I have a few ideas of where to stop but any advice from those who have been would be appreciated. So far I’m thinking of these destinations:
- Civita di Bagnoregio (which I saw on the Amazing Race the other day)
- Montepulciano
- Pienza
- Siena (a dream destination for me)
- San Gimignano
- Lucca
After that we’ll be driving north through Austria and Germany to Rostock where we’ll get the ferry to Copenhagen for a quick visit. I then need to figure out the quickest way to get from Copenhagen to Brussels in Belgium where I’ll be spending a couple of weeks writing.
At some point in the last week of May I’ll be in Paris where I hope to meet up with as many of my Paris based friends as possible or anyone who happens to be around and wants to meet up for coffee or an apero.
If you have any travel tips for me or want to meet up somewhere along our road trip let me know. I’m so looking forward to this trip and I’d love to meet up with other travellers along the way.
