My main travel goals for this year were to be more spontaneous and to travel slower. I’m not sure I’ve achieved either of those, especially the travel slower part but I expect that to change after this month when my only plans are to stay put for a while.
July Travel Plans
Italy
This month I’m excited to be returning to Italy, specifically Lake Como. I have been to Como twice before but on each occasion I was just passing through for an hour or two. This time I’ll have 5 days right on the lake looking over towards Bellagio. I can’t wait to take in the sights from the water and I might even do a little hiking, provided there’s a reward of a gelato at the end of it.
Slovenia
Then it’s back to Central Europe where we’ll be meeting up with the lovely Katrine from SusDane. She’s into responsible tourism so we’ll be checking out the greener side of Ljubljana and I’m sure we’ll stop by the beautiful Lake Bled at some point too.
I’m quite interested in eco-tourism myself and my first ever blog was about green living in Australia. I recently relaunched that blog so if green living and responsible tourism is your thing you might want to check out Greenify Magazine.
I must admit I wasn’t particularly charmed by Ljubljana on my previous two visits. Feel free to explain to me what I’m missing in the comments.
Mini Travel Guides
Even though I don’t have many travel plans I do have many plans for expanding Rear View Mirror. I’m currently working on a number of mini travel guides which will be released throughout the rest of the year. These are free guides which you can use to help plan and book your upcoming European holidays. More to come on this later…
