Mostar’s Bridge and Old Town

Mostar's Old Bridge

I didn’t get to see Mostar’s UNESCO World Heritage listed Old Bridge on my first visit to Mostar due to a misunderstanding with a bus driver but I got to go back this summer and snap a photo of the famous bridge. The old town and bridge are beautiful and Mostar is my favourite place in Bosnia and Herzegovina after two visits to the country.

  1. Glad you got to go back. Lovely photo. Do you see anyone diving off the bridge? When we were there last year, there was a diver who would wait until he had enough money from the bystanders, then take the plunge.

    • I was hoping to see them jump off the bridge but I couldn’t figure out when/if that was going to happen. It’s so high up, it looks dangerous to jump but I know they do it. Sorry I missed out on seeing that. :(

  2. WOW! Love that photo. I’ve not been there yet, but feels like it now.

    • It’s very touristy but the old town is gorgeous with its Ottoman style houses and bazaar. It’s much more beautiful than Sarajevo in my opinion.

  3. Gorgeous Photo!

  4. One of my friends is from Mostar. She and her family escaped the Balkan conflict, and when I got to know her, I liked how she talked about the bridge. Love this bridge!
