Piran is one of the few places in Slovenia to remain unaffected by the financial crises. A small town with tourism as its focus, Piran is fully booked this summer and every summer. It looks like getting away for a coastal holiday is still a priority for many and I imagine Piran is an affordable location even in the current economic climate.
The restaurants are turning over good business too. The massive portions of seafood served at Park Restaurant are standard as the owner Maja likes to keep customers happy and makes a good profit by doing so. The €30 seafood platter for two was the best meal we had in Slovenia and some of the freshest seafood we’ve had anywhere.
